The 40th edition of the bp Ultimate Baja Portalegre 500 promises to be a historic milestone for national and international off-road racing. The event, organised by the Automobile Club of Portugal, returns to Alto Alentejo between 15 and 17 October, celebrating four decades of one of the most iconic competitions on the Portuguese sporting calendar.
As in previous editions, the race is once again part of the FIA Cross-Country World Cup calendar, playing a prominent role in a highly competitive season that brings together the leading teams and drivers from around the world.
The Portuguese classic is also part of the European Bajas Cup, a competition that travels through several countries on the continent, such as Spain, Greece, Italy, Hungary and Poland, before arriving in Portugal for one of the most eagerly awaited stages of the year.
The 2025 edition remains fresh in the memory, marked by a strong performance by Portuguese drivers, with João Ferreira returning to victory in cars, Micael Simão asserting himself in motorcycles, and Tomás Paulo and José Hélio standing out in Quads and SSV, respectively.
